British Virgin Islands Welcomes New Adventure Watersports Flotilla
Sunsail and SAIL Magazine Partner to Offer an Active, Week-Long Flotilla in Paradise
NEW YORK, Oct. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board is pleased to announce a new watersports flotilla in the BVI hosted by Sunsail and SAIL Magazine. Taking place from December 9-16, 2011, this inaugural trip will kick-off in Tortola and will explore many of the unforgettable islands and cays of the British Virgin Islands. Participants will experience hands-on sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, stand-up paddling, snorkeling, diving, dinghy racing, and more exciting activities throughout the exquisite locales of the BVI.
Often referred to as the "sailing capital of the world," the British Virgin Islands is the perfect destination for this week-long trip, as flotilla participants will be able to enjoy line-of-site navigation from island to island and experience the BVI's ideal sailing conditions under the tutelage of SAIL host Chris Museler, a national and international sailing championship winner and former professional bowman on ocean racing yachts. In addition to the excitement of sailing with a world-renowned pro and in a fleet of Sunsail's well-equipped monohulls and catamarans, the flotilla will be rife with exhilarating watersports activities. Participants will relish adrenaline-filled activities like stand-up paddleboarding, diving at the famous Wreck of the Rhone, dinghy racing at the Bitter End Yacht Club on Virgin Gorda, and kicking back with beachside parties when pulling into select ports of the BVI.
All are welcome, from couples to groups, or even single sailors, who can join the trip with a "by the cabin booking" – the flotilla will be a memorable experience for any adventurous traveler.
