British Gas Launches Generation Green Programme for Schools
LONDON, Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- British Gas has re-launched its "Generation Green" initiative to promote sustainability to children in schools.
The energy provider aims to drive the green agenda by targeting children in the classroom with what it calls a "web based education and loyalty programme".
British Gas says the new integrated scheme will make it easier to reward teachers for promoting sustainability issues in their classrooms.
Generation Green will include curriculum compliant lesson plans and teaching resources and an educational "Eco Club" giving children the opportunity to compete and play games against each other.
There will be a national quiz about green issues that will invite primary school children to compete against each other online, leading to a live finale.
The programme will be underpinned by a loyalty scheme that will see schools earn points for engaging in green activities that they will be able to redeem against sustainable products.
The digital activity and loyalty programme have been developed by Crayon.
Katie Alloway, programme manager for Generation Green says: "Generation Green is extremely important to British Gas and we're confident that this engaging, educational and interactive experience will make it easy and rewarding for teachers to teach and promote green living in the classroom, school and local community."
Schools can sign up to Generation Green online at www.generationgreen.co.uk where they can also download new resources and lesson plans.
British Gas are the country's leading energy supplier; offering energy monitor products and energy saving schemes for all.
