Bristol Night Race Week Recognized by State of Tennessee and Commonwealth of Virginia
BRISTOL, Tenn., Aug. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Tennessee State Rep. Jon Lundberg presented Bristol Motor Speedway officials with a state resolution Thursday declaring the week of Aug. 17-23, 2014, Bristol Night Race Week in Tennessee.
Lundberg presented the resolution to BMS Executive Vice President and General Manager Jerry Caldwell at the Bristol (Tennessee/Virginia) Chamber of Commerce State of the Cities Luncheon, held at the Bristol Train Station.
Simultaneously, Virginia Delegate Israel O'Quinn, whose Southwest Virginia district includes Bristol, was on hand to bestow a proclamation to honor and celebrate the upcoming race-week festivities in the twin cities.
Each August, BMS hosts Bristol Race Week, a multi-day event filled with on- and off-track activities for race fans and their families. With a seating capacity of 160,000, the Last Great Colosseum is one of the five largest permanent-seat sports facilities in the world. Also recognized as one of the 30 most important sports venues in the world, BMS has welcomed visitors from all 50 states and 19 countries and generates an economic impact of approximately $400 million annually.
Tickets still remain to experience Saturday night under the lights at the IRWIN Tools Night Race. Single-day tickets start at just $75, with weekend packages as low as $99.
Guests may attend Friday's full day of racing, including Bass Pro Shops Qualifying and the newly expanded Food City 300, for as little as $35, with half-price admission for children 15 and under.
Tickets for the Wednesday night tripleheader featuring the Whelen Modified Bush's Beans 150, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series UNOH 200 presented by ZLOOP, and full-length Dierks Bentley concert presented by Mountain Dew, start at just $30 for adults, with children 15 and under free. All ticket prices increase by $5 starting Aug. 17.
