Brilliant™ Study Finds Widespread Open Positions and Increased Hiring Plans for Quarter 1 2017

CHICAGO, Dec. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Brilliant™, an award-winning search, staffing and management resources firm specializing in accounting, finance and information technology, released its Q1 2017 Hiring Forecast. The data indicates businesses have widespread open positions in accounting, finance and information technology and plan to increase their hiring in the year ahead.

Brilliant's Q1 2017 Accounting, Finance and Information Technology Hiring Forecast, produced with Dr. Richard Curtin, Director, Surveys of Consumers at the University of Michigan, studies the hiring trends and business factors affecting proprietary entities in the greater Chicago and south Florida markets.

The study finds three-in-10 businesses report unfilled full-time accounting and finance positions, and one-in-six companies report unfilled full-time information technology positions. Further, one-in-five companies plan to increase their hiring of accounting, finance and information technology professionals in the year ahead.

"The overall strength in hiring plans indicates that human resources professionals and hiring managers expect continued business growth and gains in nationwide employment during the year ahead," says Dr. Richard Curtin, Director, Surveys of Consumers at the University of Michigan. "One-in-five firms expect to increase their hiring of accounting, finance and information technology teams at the same robust pace as the past year."

The study, conducted between Oct. 17, 2016, and Oct. 31, 2016, surveyed more than 500 human resources professionals and hiring managers from a variety of industries.
