Brigid E. Heid Installed as New President (2016-17) of the Columbus Bar Association
COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Carlile Patchen & Murphy LLP (CPM) is proud to announce that Brigid E. Heid will be installed today as the 2016-17 President of the Columbus Bar Association (CBA) at the Columbus Bar Association and Foundation's Annual Meeting, June 9, 2016 at the Sheraton, downtown Columbus. This past year, Ms. Heid served as the President-Elect to the CBA and previously served as the Secretary-Treasurer. Heid will officially take her seat along with the newly elected members of the CBA's board of governors.
Ms. Heid has a long history of service to the Columbus Bar Association, serving on the Board of Governors since 2011. She recently chaired an ad hoc committee evaluating CBA committees and has taken an active role on several Columbus Bar Association committees.
Ms. Heid joined Carlile Patchen & Murphy as a partner in 2008. She is a chair of the firm's Employment and Labor Practice Group and a chair of the Hiring Committee. Her individual law practice focuses primarily on employment law, specifically business and employment litigation. She regularly represents clients before administrative agencies and in court regarding various fair employment practices claims like discrimination or harassment, worker classification, or pay practices under wage and hour laws. Ms. Heid also works with clients to protect their important intellectual property, trade secrets, and confidential information from unfair competition and advises business owners on best practices and policies to manage key compliance risk in the workplace.

Brigid has two degrees from The Ohio State University, a B.A. in Chemistry, Summa Cum Laude and a J.D. with honors from The Ohio State University, Moritz College of Law.

Brigid is a member of the Columbus Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners; served two terms as the President of the Columbus Chapter of the Executive Women's Golf Association; is Past Treasurer of Beta Nu House Association for Kappa Kappa Gamma; served as President of the Board of Trustees, Chair of the Client and Human Relations Committee and Chair of the Program Committee for The Legal Aid Society of Columbus.
