Brightwood Colleges in San Antonio Welcome former Career Point College Students
San Pedro and Ingram Campuses Focus on Study, Graduation and Employment
SAN ANTONIO, Oct. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Brightwood Colleges in San Antonio are welcoming Career Point College students in the wake of the school's closure announcement this week offering assistance to help them stay focused on completing their programs of study, graduating and entering the job market.
"It will be our honor to give former Career Point students the individual support they need," said Sandra Muskopf, president of Brightwood College in San Antonio (San Pedro). "We will evaluate transfer credits on a case by case basis and do whatever we can to make the transition to a new school a manageable process. We want to do whatever we can to help and are hopeful that circumstances surrounding the closure of Career Point will not prevent us from doing so. We would advise all Career Point College students who can still access their files to get a copy of their transcript, any entrance exam results, financial aid information, etc., because that information could help facilitate the process of changing schools."
For students who were enrolled in a program that is not closely aligned to one Brightwood College offers, enrollment specialists will assist students in transitioning to another program and transfer credits will be reviewed case by case. Former Career Point students in certain programs may have the option to transfer credits and complete their degree programs online.
In addition, Brightwood College is offering a specialized student scholarship to former Career Point students as well as waiving enrollment and registration fees, residency requirements and entrance exams.
"As former Career Point students join our student body to continue their educational journey, it is important to know that both Brightwood Colleges in San Antonio are in good standing with our accreditor and the U.S. Department of Education, and we are fully focused on our mission of providing post-secondary career education that prepares our graduates to enter the workplace with a valuable skill set," said Muskopf.
"It's all about students staying on track to graduation and securing a job that allows them to provide for themselves and their families," Muskopf added.
