Brightside And TrueConnect Announce Employee Benefits Pilot Program
Brightside Offers TrueConnect's Small-Dollar Loans on its Financial Health Platform
SAN FRANCISCO and SAN DIEGO, July 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Brightside, a trusted partner in financial health for employees, and TrueConnect, a small-dollar loan provider for employees, today announced that the TrueConnect service is now available on Brightside's employer platform.
"Access to small-dollar loans can often make a big difference in people's lives and may keep a short-term situation from being a long-term problem. By partnering with Brightside, a company that is sharing our solution as part of a broader financial health benefit offering to employees, employees can also get personalized assistance to meet their financial goals," said Doug Farry, vice president of partners at TrueConnect.
Last month, the TrueConnect loan program became available to a pilot group of employees on the Brightside financial health platform. TrueConnect allows qualified employees to apply for short-term loans for up to $2,000 without accessing the employee's credit score. Qualified applicants receive loan funds as soon as the next business day. "These loans can help employees get out from under higher interest payday loans and reduce 401(k) hardship withdrawals, while helping employees build their credit. These are key objectives for employers," said Christine Tozzi, chief strategy officer at Brightside.
"We're excited to add TrueConnect to the Brightside platform to round out the broad solutions we already have, including building emergency savings, reducing credit card debt and reducing bills," said Callum King, president of Brightside.
As a trusted partner, Brightside offers its service as an employee benefit. The company supports each employee's unique financial situation with a mobile app and financial assistants, both backed by a proprietary financial methodology, modern behavioral science, and easy access to the best financial product options curated personally to save them money. For example, Brightside helped one employee save $3,000 in credit card interest payments, reduced the time to be debt-free by two years and improved their credit score in the process.
