WASHINGTON, Aug. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Association of Homecare (AAHomecare) and Brightree®, announced today that Dave Cormack, Brightree president and CEO, has been elected to the AAHomecare Board of Directors.
A pioneer in the HME software industry, Cormack has led Brightree since 2005. Cormack is a veteran healthcare software industry executive who has founded, built, and managed several high-growth companies, both in the U.S. and internationally. He has more than 30 years of experience, including previous tenures as president and CEO of two highly successful start-up ventures that were acquired by NASDAQ-listed companies.
"I am honored to serve on the Board of this vital industry organization dedicated to preserving and strengthening healthcare access for the millions of Americans who require medical care in their homes," said Cormack. "I welcome the opportunity to work collectively with the AAHomecare Board of Directors and management team to ensure that homecare providers continue to be relevant and not unfairly burdened with legislative and regulatory issues."
"Building a collaborative Board with a variety of backgrounds and perspectives will elevate us to a stronger position of influence in the industry," said Robert Steedley, Chairman of the Board of AAHomecare. "Dave Cormack is a great addition to this group. We can undoubtedly expect excellent things from him and from the Board as a whole."
"Dave has a bright mind and strong leadership, and the drive and determination to back it up," said Tom Ryan, AAHomecare president and CEO. "His is exactly the kind of voice we need to hear more of in this organization as we navigate the rough terrain the HME industry faces these days. We're very pleased to welcome him to the Board."
Prior to Brightree, Cormack founded and managed Soft Systems Limited, a London-based vendor of business intelligence tools, and MiracleWorkers.com, an Atlanta-based market leader in Internet recruiting for the healthcare industry, now owned by CareerBuilder.com.
