BRIGHTON, Mich., Sept. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Brighton Hospital has named Dr. Jeffrey Berger as its new medical director and Ken Van Elslander as hospital director.
Dr. Berger is a graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine, where he also completed a residency in internal medicine. He is certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine and has been a member of the Brighton Hospital active medical staff since 1998.
In addition to his work at Brighton Hospital, Dr. Berger has worked with the Henry Ford Maplegrove Center, a chemical dependency treatment facility. He has lectured in the region on topics pertaining to addiction and recovery.
Ken Van Elslander has been an active member of Brighton's Advisory Board and Marketing Committee and is a member of the newly constituted SJPHS Care Continuum Board. He takes over for Dan McCormick, who was serving as interim leader.
Van Elslander holds an undergraduate business degree from Central Michigan University has a graduate certificate in addiction studies and is completing a master's degree in counseling from University of Detroit, Mercy.
