Bright House Networks Business Solutions Donates Data Services to Tampa Bay WaVE
TAMPA, Fla., April 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Bright House Networks Business Solutions today announced that it has partnered with Tampa Bay WaVE, a non-profit organization that helps entrepreneurs turn ideas into growing technology ventures in Tampa Bay, Florida. As part of the partnership, Bright House Networks donated a 200 Mbps high capacity, highly survivable fiber Dedicated Internet Access connection to support the communication needs of the organization as well as Tampa Bay WaVE's more than 100 member technology start-ups.
The data services were set up at Tampa Bay WaVE's FirstWaVE Venture Center, a 16,000 square foot technology hub in downtown Tampa which was provided to Tampa Bay WaVE as a result of a grant won from the U.S. Department of Commerce in 2012, and began running on April 17. Bright House Networks' data services donation will help offset Tampa Bay WaVE's budget and will allow the start-ups, who work out of Tampa Bay WaVE's FirstWaVE Venture Center, to operate faster and more efficiently.
"We are delighted to partner with the Tampa Bay WaVE to support technology growth throughout the Tampa Bay area," said Craig Cowden, senior vice president, Network Engineering and Operations, and Enterprise Solutions, Bright House Networks. "Bright House Networks believes in serving the community where we ourselves work and live, and are proud that the strength and depth of our local network will help fuel the foundation's efforts. Tampa Bay WaVE's mission aligns with our goals to help promote business growth and success by investing in the innovative technology of the future."
"Bright House Networks' data services donation is a significant benefit to our organization. It's crucial that we have the latest and greatest technology to service the needs of our members and Bright House Networks generously stepped up to make that happen," said Linda Olson, founder and president of Tampa Bay WaVE.
