Bridgeway Senior Healthcare Facilities Earn 5-Star Rating

In the most recent State Survey, Bridgeway Care Center at Hillsborough was deficiency free! With this achievement, our facility has obtained an overall 5-Star CMS Rating! Our Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater was also deficiency free and received their 5-Star Rating in March of 2015. According to the New Jersey Department of Health, each year approximately 400 full, on-site licensure inspections of nursing facilities are conducted. These surveys evaluate the fitness and adequacy of the nursing facility, its equipment, staff, policies, procedures and finances. A deficiency is determined by the Department of Health when a nursing facility has not met specific state licensure or federal certification regulations. These deficiencies can range from isolated violations to something widespread which could put residents in jeopardy. What makes up a 5-Star Rating? The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) look at Health Inspections, Staffing, and Quality Measures to determine a Star Rating ranging from 1-5. There is an overall Facility score in addition to a score for the three additional areas:

• Health inspections are completed annually and the rating is based on a combination of the three most recent annual surveys and three years of complaint surveys.
• The Staffing rating evaluates the number of hours of staffing per resident, per day.
• The Quality rating evaluates the facility's clinical outcomes related to five short-stay (sub-acute) measures and 13 long-stay measures.
