Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center to Host Virtual Dementia Tour® Event!

Bridgeway Senior Healthcare staff brings awareness to Alzheimer's through their annual participation in the Walk to End Alzheimer's and fundraising efforts through bake sales and Forget-Me-Not Flowers. The Virtual Dementia Tour® is the latest addition in our goal to provide awareness. Susan Lanza, LNHA and Administrator of Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center at Bridgewater became a Certified Virtual Dementia Tour® Trainer this past February and conducted her first Virtual Dementia Tour® (VDT) on May 12th. The goal is to bring this immersive technique to all four Bridgeway buildings with training for employees, families, and even the community. After training, the group tried out the techniques by helping to host 38 staff members from Bridgewater through the tour; it was an emotionally rewarding day for all. Since then, even more of the Bridgeway Senior Healthcare staff members have been trained from all four of our buildings. In July of this year, Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center in Hillsborough had their own training session with another 71 employees who took part in the experience. This fall, we are opening up this event to the community.
