Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center at Bridgewater Receives Zero Deficiencies in Their State Survey!

BRIDGEWATER, N.J., May 27, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In March 2015, the Department of Health conducted their annual inspection at Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bridgewater. As a result, there were zero deficiencies! This is not a frequent occurrence; according to CMS, only 9.5% of all nursing homes were deficiency free in 2012.

Paula Crabb, Director of Nursing (DON) at Bridgeway Bridgewater was honored, along with other DON's, at the New Jersey Association of Directors of Nursing Administration 26^th Annual Awards Dinner on April 20^th, 2015 at Bally's Atlantic City for achieving a Deficiency Free Survey.

According to the New Jersey Department of Health, each year approximately 400 full, on-site licensure inspections of nursing facilities are conducted. These surveys evaluate the fitness and adequacy of the nursing facility, its equipment, staff, policies, procedures and finances.

In addition to receiving zero deficiencies in the state survey, Bridgeway at Bridgewater has also gained a CMS 5 Star Rating in 2015 for overall quality under the new guidelines! According to CMS, the overall star rating is determined by using the health inspection rating as the base, then adding or subtracting stars for staffing and quality:

• Health inspections are completed annually and the rating is based on a combination of the three most recent annual surveys and three years of complaint surveys.
• The Staffing rating evaluates the number of hours of staffing per resident, per day.
• The Quality rating evaluates the facility's clinical outcomes related to five short-stay (sub-acute) measures and 13 long-stay measures.
