Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations Announces Firestone-Brand Destination Farm Radial Implement Tires
Tires are engineered with reduced inflation pressure, causing less compaction
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Bridgestone Agricultural Tire, U.S. & Canada Commercial Tire Sales (BAAG), which manufactures Firestone-brand farm tires, announced the launch of a Firestone-brand Destination Farm radial implement tire, which will be available in 2013. These tires, are part of a new class of farm tires with AD2 technology, and are designed with agricultural needs in mind.
"Producers are often forced to use tires made for trucks or buses on heavy-pull type implements," said Tom Rodgers, who directs sales and marketing efforts for Firestone-brand farm tires. "This tire was created specifically with agricultural needs in mind. By utilizing our AD2 technology, the Destination Farm tires leave a larger footprint with less soil compaction. Our Agricultural R&D group worked closely with our Light Truck Tire and our Truck and Bus development groups to leverage technology from each area in creating this innovative solution for the North American farmer."
The Firestone-brand Destination Farm radial implement tires are available in IF- and VF- designations and specifically designed for the high-load demands of today's agricultural equipment. Compared to equivalent-sized standard radial tires, the Destination Farm radial implement tires deliver added performance benefits including:
- Tires carry more load –at a lower pressure than standard equivalent-sized bias and radial tires
- Lower air pressure with a larger footprint to help reduce soil compaction
- Wider section width for more contact area
- Steel belts for improved resistance of stubble penetration, compared to bias implement tires
The Firestone-brand Destination Farm radial implement tires are extensively tested for durability and performance at the Firestone Farm Tire Test Center in Columbiana, Ohio. To learn more about the Destination Farm radial implement tires and product offerings, visit www.FirestoneAg.com.
