WASHINGTON, March 6, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Press Club announced today that Brian Taylor has joined as Director of Business Development, reporting directly to NPC Executive Director Bill McCarren.
In his new role, Taylor will lead efforts to pursue new business and ancillary growth opportunities that leverage the National Press Club's diverse business units including events, conferences, multimedia broadcast production studios, hospitality properties and membership, as well as developing the NPC's digital marketing, advertising, public relations and content strategy and strategic business partnerships.

Taylor was mostly recently a Vice President with PR Newswire from 2006-2014 where he managed the day-to-day sales and account management operations for the company's advocacy, government and public policy business in the U.S. During his tenure, the business unit experienced 250% revenue growth. Prior to PR Newswire, Taylor was Vice President of Sales & Marketing with U.S. Newswire from 1995 to 2006, where he helped grow the annual revenues 600% from 1995 to 2006, when the company was acquired by PR Newswire for $23 million.
A resident of Ellicott City, Md., Taylor holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications from Towson University. He is an active member in numerous professional organizations, including the Public Relations Society of America, and has been a featured speaker and panelist on the topics of digital media, event planning, content marketing and journalism.
