Breakthrough Technologies Honored as Silver Stevie® Award Winner in 2015 American Business Awards
Winners in ABA's New Product and Technology Related Categories Announced in San Francisco
EVANSTON, Ill., Nov. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Breakthrough Technologies was presented with a Silver Stevie® Award in the Integrated Mobile Experience category in the 13th Annual American Business Awards.
Breakthrough Technologies combines emerging technologies with innovative thinking to empower organizations, facilitate communication and create positive change on a global scale. The company received this award in recognition of its work on the Morton Arboretum app. The app -- the Arboretum's first ever -- features a GPS-coordinated map pinpointing the Arboretum's most popular points of interest. It also places information about the Arboretum's events, exhibits and classes at visitor's fingertips. In addition, the Morton Arboretum's app includes a range of self-guided tours for all ages and interests, such as Fun for Kids, Adventures in Birding, Amazing Habitat Hike, and the Great Trees Trail.
"The app we developed for the Morton Arboretum provides visitors with a new and fresh way to explore the park's 1,700 beautiful acres," said Doug Wilson, Managing Partner of Breakthrough Technologies. "The Arboretum welcomes more than 800,000 visitors annually, and we were thrilled by the opportunity to use mobile technology to further its mission to create a greener, healthier and more beautiful world. We are honored to have our work recognized by a Silver Stevie Award, and we congratulate our fellow, impressive nominees."
The American Business Awards are the nation's premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small.
Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for "crowned," the awards were presented to winners during a gala banquet on Friday, September 11 at the Julia Morgan Ballroom in San Francisco. More than 250 nominees and their guests attended for the presentation of new product awards, management awards, app awards, and more.
This year's American Business Awards were presented at two events. Stevies for excellence in customer service, human resources, marketing, websites, publications, videos, management, and other disciplines were announced in Chicago in June. The event focused on new product and technology-related categories, tech-related management, and select company/organization categories.
More than 3,300 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Tech Startup of the Year, Software Executive of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, and App of the Year, among others.
Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 200 executives nationwide who participated in the judging process.
"We are extremely impressed with the quality of the entries we received this year. The competition was intense and every organization that won should be proud," said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards. "To those outstanding individuals and organizations that received Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie Awards, the judges and I are honored to celebrate your many accomplishments. You are setting a high standard for professionals nationwide."
