Brazil's Pernambuco State Department of Taxation and Finance Selects Unisys to Provide IT Services

BLUE BELL, Pa., Sept. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that a consortium led by its Brazilian subsidiary has won a contract from Brazil's Pernambuco State Department of Taxation and Finance (SEFAZ-PE) to provide IT services supporting an upgrade of the department's application systems.

The contract was signed in the second quarter of 2013 and has an estimated value to Unisys of BRL 8.1 million (US$ 3.6 million). Under the terms of the contract, Unisys will provide IT support services for e-Fisco, the integrated system that the Pernambuco state government uses for the collection of taxes, such as those on sales of goods and services and on motor vehicles. Unisys will also develop new tax, financial, accounting and budget features for the 34 subsystems that comprise e-Fisco.

In addition, Unisys will provide support services for the department's IT infrastructure, such as technical support for servers and other equipment, database administration and transitional project management.
