Brazeway Joins China Trade Task Force in Fight to Save Thousands of American Aluminum Jobs
Brazeway, an international aluminum extrusion manufacturer, joins the United Steelworkers Union and Century Aluminum as members of CTTF
WASHINGTON, Feb. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Brazeway Inc. has officially joined the China Trade Task Force Coalition as part of a global effort to combat illegal Chinese aluminum subsidies in order save thousands of American aluminum jobs. Brazeway is the world's largest manufacturer of frost-free evaporators for household refrigeration and is a leading manufacturer of extruded aluminum tubing and heat transfer components for the HVAC, appliance and automotive industries.
As a privately-owned U.S. manufacturing firm, Brazeway provides employment to hundreds of hard working American families. Illegal Chinese aluminum subsidies threaten the company's ability to source high quality aluminum from the domestic American market.
"China's illegal trade practices have damaged American manufacturers for years. We are proud to join this team to protect the domestic aluminum market and to ensure that tens of thousands of people throughout the supply chain can stay on the job," Stephanie Boyse, President and CEO said. "Additionally, we are equally concerned about assuring uninterrupted supply for our US customers who are major OEM's within the HVAC, automotive and appliance industries.
In late 2015, the United Steelworkers, North America's largest industrial union with 1.2 million members endorsed the efforts of CTTF to help save thousands of American jobs. Today's addition of Brazeway Inc. reflects the strong levels of support CTTF has amongst aluminum producers and the extended manufacturers supply chain.
The Executive Director of the China Trade Task Force, Will Dempster noted that "the addition of Brazeway Inc. to the coalition sends a strong signal to the U.S. government that American aluminum producers and manufacturers want to stop China's illegal trade practices." The CTTF Executive Director went on to note "if nothing changes in the next few months, tens of thousands of Americans will be out of work and China will control the global aluminum market. Now is the time for action."
