Braun Intertec Salutes Veterans Within Its Walls and Communities
MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In honor of Veterans Day, engineering, consulting and testing firm Braun Intertec today announced several initiatives to honor its own employee-Veterans and Veterans living in each of the 14 communities Braun Intertec operates in. The company, often recognized by its fleet of forest green trucks, will be donating three Ford F-150 fleet vehicles to Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA). PVA supports better health care and benefits, aids in the search for satisfying careers and provides the path to adventure through adaptive sports for paralyzed Veterans.
Braun Intertec will extend its mission to honor America's Veterans into the holidays by matching proceeds raised from employees during 'Braun Bay,' its annual online charitable auction. From hand-knit scarves to sporting game tickets, employees will tap into their own resources to find items that will bring in the highest bids. Braun Intertec will match the total amount raised through the 'Braun Bay' auction and distribute proceeds to Veterans organizations in each of its four operating states including Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin.
Today, a group of the firm's 37 Veterans joined Braun Intertec CEO, Jon Carlson at a Veterans Day pancake breakfast to thank them for their service. The gesture of gratitude hits home with Carlson – who served in the United States Navy Reserve from 1983-1987.
"At Braun Intertec, we recognize the pivotal role the military, Veterans, and their families play in our country. As an employer of Veterans and active duty servicemen and women since 1957, we value their leadership, commitment, sacrifices and experience," said Carlson. "It is important now more than ever to recognize and thank Veterans in our workplace and on the streets of our communities as more return home every day."
