Brandon Schmidt Named Vice President, Acquisitions For Caroline
NEW YORK, April 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Brandon Schmidt has been appointed Vice President, Acquisitions of Caroline – the Independent Services division of Capitol Music Group – it was announced today by Caroline Executive Vice President/General Manager, Mike Harris, to whom Schmidt will report. Schmidt will be based in New York.
In his new position, Schmidt will be responsible for leading the identification and acquisition of new partners for Caroline, while working closely with Caroline's existing partners to provide A&R expertise and insight to help identify breakout opportunities. Schmidt will serve as a key representative for Caroline to the trade and general marketplace, reinforcing Caroline as the definitive service platform locally and globally to the independent label and artist community. He will also serve as a resource within the family of Universal labels who may want to engage Caroline to assist in the development of artists, while liaising with all of Caroline's departments to insure a seamless transition of new label partners into the Caroline fold.

Brandon Schmidt is the founder of B23 Management, an independent management company that focuses on artist development and one that has enjoyed numerous successes since its formation in 2001. Schmidt began his career at MTV Networks, joining that company to work on marketing for the 1996 Choose Or Lose presidential campaign coverage and coordinating content for MTV Local. He served in a variety of roles at MTV.com, beginning as Coordinator of Music Programming and rising to Director of Music Programming, all under the tutelage of Amy Doyle (now Executive Vice President, Music & Talent) and Tom Calderone (now president of VH1).
