Boys Like Girls In The Studio, To Release Crazy World This Fall, Performing at Bamboozle This Sunday
NEW YORK, May 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Boys Like Girls are back and are currently in the studio finishing recording a brand new album for fall release on Columbia Records. Crazy World is Boys Like Girls' third studio album and the follow-up to 2009's Love Drunk. After years of recording and touring and a brief hiatus, the new album finds frontman Martin Johnson approaching songwriting with a more grown-up perspective, showcasing his skills as a mature songwriter capable of stretching beyond the pop-rock genre the band came up in as teenagers. Crazy World was produced by Johnson and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge (Bruce Springsteen, Green Day, U2.)
The band released a teaser video earlier this week on their Facebook page, and today Martin released another video message to fans announcing the new album at www.boyslikegirls.com
BLG will perform on the Main Stage at the 10th Anniversary Bamboozle Festival this Sunday. They will also play a headlining set at Mayfair in Allentown, PA next week.
Current band members Martin Johnson (lead vocals & rhythm guitar), Paul DiGiovanni (lead guitar), and John Keefe (drums) formed Boys Like Girls in 2005 in Massachusetts. Their eponymous debut was released in 2006. Boys Like Girls is certified gold and produced the Top 10 radio hit and platinum single "The Great Escape." 2009's Love Drunk produced two more platinum Top 10 radio singles, the title track "Love Drunk" and "Two Is Better Than One," which features Taylor Swift. To date Boys Like Girls have sold 1.17 million albums and 8 million tracks worldwide. The band are also extremely active online, with over 4.3M Facebook fans and 38.6M Vevo video views.
