Boys & Girls Clubs of America To Celebrate Club Members And Alum At Annual Great Futures Gala
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) will honor Club members and Club alum at their Great Futures Gala on November 3, 2016 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, Beverly Hills. Steve Mosko and Eric Shanks, President, COO and Executive Producer of FOX Sports will co-chair this annual event which has been held in Los Angeles for more than 26 years. Actor, comedian Jay Mohr to emcee.
The evening will feature award-winning director and producer Justin Lin as keynote speaker. Lin's films have grossed more than $2 billion worldwide and is best known for his work on The Fast and the Furious 3-6, Star Trek Beyond and Better Luck Tomorrow. He is also known for his work on television shows Community and True Detective. There will also be a special performance by composer, writer, producer and classical pianist, Chloe Flower, joined by Club members. Additional Club members will perform their Lyricism 101 program which focuses on the art of freestyling through a cipher workshop to help teens develop music and performance skills, build self-esteem, and explore their own ideas in a safe environment. Both the 2015 Youth of the Year Whitney S. and the 2016 National Youth of the Year, Jocelyn W., will speak along with local Club members expressing their experiences relating to academic success, good character, citizenship and healthy lifestyles which they've accomplished participating in the programs at BGCA.
For more than 150 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of America (greatfutures.org) has enabled young people most in need to achieve great futures as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Today, more than 4,200 Clubs serve nearly 4 million young people annually through Club membership and community outreach.
