(parent company of University of Phoenix); Goldie Hawn, Academy-Award Winning actress, producer, director and founder of The Hawn Foundation; and Carrie Schwab-Pomerantz, president, Charles Schwab Foundation, to the organization's prestigious Board of Governors.

The strategic leadership provided by the 47-member board guides the work of some 4,000 local Boys & Girls Clubs, serving nearly 4 million children and teens, including youth living on U.S. military installations worldwide. BGCA's recently announced 10-year strategy, Formula for Impact, calls for every Boys & Girls Club member to graduate from high school on time, prepared to achieve a successful future.

Cappelli: Philanthropic Focus on Education
Greg Cappelli joined Apollo Group, Inc. in 2007 first serving as executive vice president of global strategy and assistant to the executive chairman. For the last two years he has held the position of co-chief executive officer of Apollo Group, Inc., a private education provider recognized for its innovative and distinctive educational programs and services offered online and at over 200 locations nationwide.
Before joining Apollo, Cappelli spent 10 years with Credit Suisse where he founded the corporation's Global Services Team and was ultimately appointed as managing director and senior research analyst. Hawn: A Passionate Advocate for Children's Emotional Health
While first achieving prominence as a cast member of Rowan & Martin's "Laugh-In" TV Show, and winning an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in "Cactus Flower" in 1969, Goldie Hawn is most proud of her work as the founder of The Hawn Foundation. This non-profit was created to actively promote children's academic success in school and life through social and emotional learning.
The Hawn Foundation developed MindUP, an evidence-based curriculum for grades K-8 currently being taught in schools across the U.S. and Canada. In 2003, Charles Schwab Foundation began providing the funding and expertise to launch an award-winning financial education program for teens, called Money Matters: Make It Count(SM). To date, the foundation has contributed more than $10 million to make the program available to the 2,900 Boys & Girls Clubs that serve teens, including providing $390,000 in college scholarship grants to 187 teens who completed the program and demonstrated exceptional personal financial skills. More than 325,000 Boys & Girls Clubs teens have participated in the program.
Schwab-Pomerantz is a member of the President's Advisory Council on Financial Capability, for which she chairs the Partnership Committee and leads the Council's efforts to strengthen and enhance coordination between public and private-sector education programs. She also sits on the Council's Youth Committee, which promotes financial fitness for America's youth and young adults.
