Boxer's Labor Day Message to Latinos: We Don't Want Immigrants to Work Here
Sen. Barbara Boxer Once Called Immigrants a "Pool of Cheap Labor"
WASHINGTON, Sept. 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Anticipating the nation's observance of Labor Day, Alfonso Aguilar, Executive Director of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles, reminded Latino Voters in California that Senator Barbara Boxer opposes a Temporary Worker Program that would allow employers to bring more workers from places like Mexico and Central and South America.
"Senator Boxer doesn't get that our economy needs foreign workers to do the jobs Americans don't want," said Aguilar. "Boxer is totally controlled by the labor unions and, just like them, doesn't want to see more immigrants come in the country to work.
"Senator Boxer even referred to immigrants as a 'pool of cheap labor' which is insulting to all Latinos and shows a total disregard for the hard work of migrant workers and their great contributions to our country."
In July, the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles, which promotes conservative values and ideals within the Latino community and works to integrate Latinos into fuller and more active participation and leadership in the conservative movement, launched a $1 million campaign in support of California Senate candidate Carly Fiorina.
Following the debate between Fiorina and Sen. Boxer, Aguilar stated that the "Tus Valores" campaign will redouble its efforts to encourage Latinos to take action to defend their deeply help values and vote for Fiorina. The campaign will host public community meetings, town halls and rallies across the state. In addition, the campaign will feature paid ads on television and radio, extensive social media and internet activity and an aggressive earned media effort. Campaign communications will be in both English and Spanish. The Latino Partnership is an initiative of American Principles In Action, a 501(c)(4) organization dedicated to preserving and propagating the fundamental principles on which our country was founded. It aims to return our nation to an understanding that governance via these timeless principles will strengthen us as a country.
