As a special kick-off to the celebration, on Monday, Oct. 3 at 6:00 p.m. (ET) Bounce TV will premiere the 1975 episode of Soul Train featuring Pryor as guest host. Rarely did Soul Train creator and host Don Cornelius turn his show over to someone else, but in this classic episode Pryor takes over the show featuring performances by Harold Melvyn and the Blue Notes and The Southshore Commission. This special episode has not been seen on television in years and also is timed with the 40th anniversary of Soul Train's national television debut (Oct. 2, 1971).
Bounce TV's Richard Pryor Week will feature prime-time double-features starring the legendary comedian each night at 8:00 p.m. ET. Movies include: Pryor's classic pairings with Gene Wilder in Stir Crazy (Oct. 3), Silver Streak (Oct. 4) and Another You (Oct. 6); The Wiz (Oct. 5); Bingo Long and the Traveling All Stars (Oct. 6) and Bustin' Loose (Oct. 7). Bounce's first weekend on the air will be highlighted by the multiple Oscar® - nominated Far From Heaven (Sat. Oct. 1, 10:00 p.m.), 2002's textured story of race, gender and class starring Dennis Haysbert, Julianne Moore (Oscar® nominee) and Dennis Quaid. Sunday night, Oct. 2, Bounce TV will premiere Denzel Washington's Academy Award®-winning performance in the civil war epic Glory (8:00 p.m.)
