Boston Youth Symphony to Perform Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky and Weber Sunday, March 14 at Symphony Hall
BOSTON, Feb. 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras (BYSO), one of the finest youth orchestras in the country, will perform its annual spring concert at Symphony Hall on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 3 pm. The Boston Youth Symphony (BYS), the premier ensemble of the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras, conducted by Music Director Federico Cortese will perform Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5, Stravinsky's Suite No. 1 for Small Orchestra and Weber's Concertino featuring BYSO Concerto Competition Co-Winner Nicholas Davies.
BYS is the most advanced of six ensembles that comprise the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras. This 120-member ensemble engages students grades 5-12 from dozens of communities throughout New England. BYS performs a wide range of demanding orchestral repertoire, conducted by Mr. Cortese.
