Boston Data Center Leadership Summit to Feature Leading Data Center Energy Efficiency Experts
- Power Monitoring, Measuring and Management; New Technologies, Approaches, Best Practices Spotlighted -
SOMERSET, N.J., Oct. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading experts in data center energy efficiency today announced they will participate in a October 20th event for data center and facilities professionals interested in learning more on best practices, solutions and technologies for tackling today's power and energy efficiency challenges.
Energy and power costs continue to command the lion's share of a data center's budget. Learning the newest approaches and tools to monitor, measure and manage energy and other data center resources -- as well as getting the most out of existing and new data centers -- is the focus of the "Data Center Leadership Summit." The half-day event will provide information on the latest trends and technologies for data center cooling, active airflow, environment, power, rack and cabling, and electronic asset management.
Speakers and panelists scheduled to present at the event include data center experts from Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare, Columbia University and National Grid, as well as energy experts from event host companies: AST Modular, AdaptivCool, Hubbell, Markley Group and Raritan. There also will be a tour of a state-of-the-art colocation facility -- New England's largest multi-tenant, mission-critical telecom/data center facility.
The free event will be held October 20 at the Hyatt Regency Boston, from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. To register, go to www.raritan.com/Boston-Data-Center-Summit.
Jim Connolly, Director of Real Estate & Facility Operations at Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare, and Ian Katz, Data Center Facilities Manager at Columbia University, will be talking about the latest technologies they are using in their data centers and the impact on business operations and the bottom line.
In addition, Fran Boucher -- Program Manager, Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency Group, at National Grid -- will discuss utility funding for enhancing efficiency of new and existing data centers.
Educational sessions also will be a part of the event. These sessions will look at:
- Smart and efficient data centers that begin with smarter racks.
- Airflow management -- the hidden issue in data center cooling.
- Indirect free cooling in Boston PUE 1.11. Is this a reality?
- Best practices for data center cabling selection.
