Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa Announces Plans For $13 Million Renovation
Includes Borgata Buffet, Spa Toccare, Casino Floor, Front Desk, Suites and Talent areas
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., Dec. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Continuing to invest in its market leading product, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa today announced details of the $13 million property-wide renovation taking place over the next several months. Improvements include a complete redesign of the Borgata Buffet, renovations to Spa Toccare, the casino floor, front desk, Borgata suites, and back-of-the-house Talent areas.
"Borgata's market leading casino and resort product has been its strength since it opened 2003," said Tom Ballance, President and COO of Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. "Our commitment to continued development and exceeding our customers' expectations when it comes to keeping our property fresh and inviting is of central importance in strengthening Borgata's position as the East Coast's premier resort destination. We are dedicated to providing a world-class, full-service guest experience, unlike anything else in the region by investing $13 million towards our dining, spa, casino, room product and employees."
From December 1–24 Borgata will completely renovate and redesign its award-winning buffet by devoting $2 million to porcelain stone flooring, as well as strikingly resurfaced sky-like ceilings, all by Avenue Interior Design. Featuring a color scheme of warm whites, light taupe, and grey tones, the space will be highlighted by its exquisite architectural details. The carpeting will offer a new take on a traditional Italian fresco, while the vertical surfaces will receive a textured, patterned-wall covering paired with a conventional sconce to give the iconic buffet a comfortable, residential feel.
Named one of the "Best Casino Spas" in the country by SpaFinder, Spa Toccare will experience an update to both its men's and women's lounges as well as a complete revamp of its workout facility, the Pump Room, adding new Life Fitness cardio equipment including 9 treadmills, 6 cross-training ellipticals, 2 Powermill stepping machines, 2 recumbent bicycles, 2 lifestyle (spin) bicycles, and 1 upright bicycle. These updates come on the heels of a $1 million makeover earlier this year which included enhancements to Spa Toccare's 27 treatment rooms complete with new massage tables and a redecorating of carpets, wall treatments, lighting, cabinets, and linens.
The evolution of Borgata's guestrooms began in 2012 with a complete $50 million redesign to all 1,566 Classic guestrooms and hotel corridors, and continues in 2015 with an additional $6 million dedicated to restyle 39 Opus suites in addition to two 5,000 square-foot Residence suites. Borgata's decade-long relationship with the accomplished interior design firm Laurence Lee Associates created a seamless vision for the redesign of the finely-appointed suites, blending authentic, welcoming shades with proficient opulence. Excellence radiates from every inch of the space with contemporary carpeting, wall coverings and furniture, creating an atmosphere of ultimate hospitality the moment you step into the room.
Never is the property's inviting and approachable nature more evident than upon arrival, where guests are greeted by a smiling team member and, starting next year, a redesigned lobby with a complete resurfacing of the front desk, a brand new ceiling, and the unveiling of an exclusive art piece located behind the check-in area. Additional refashions to give the casino floor a more modern Italian feel will be comprised of new carpeting, wall treatments, ceiling drapery, and light fixtures, in addition to the refinishing of columns, accounting for over $4 million in capital spend.
Borgata will also continue to invest in its more than 5,000 team members with newly renovated changing areas and restrooms located in the back-of-the house areas.
