A place to eat, drink and hobnob, Street Eats will provide 25 different stations from Borgata's culinary partners, including Bobby Flay (Bobby Flay Steak), Stephen Kalt (Fornelletto Cucina & Wine Bar), Michael Schulson (Izakaya Modern Japanese Pub), Greg and Marc Sherry (Old Homestead Steak House), as well as Executive Chefs Thomas Biglan (Borgata), Thaddeus DuBois (Borgata Pastry), Aram Mardigian (Wolfgang Puck American Grille) and Wesley Holton (The Water Club hotel). And added to the line-up this year, Borgata is pleased to welcome special guest Michael Symon, Iron Chef and host of "The Chew."
Street Eats will be hosted by food and beverage personality, Sissy Biggers, offering guests the unique opportunity to mix and mingle with some of the country's hottest chefs, while sipping on craft beers by the Victory Brewing Company and fine wines hand-selected by Borgata's award-winning Wine Director, Anjoleena Griffin-Holst. Guests will listen to music by The Rockets, enjoy festival entertainers and games, and have a chance to win a place on-stage with Iron Chefs Bobby Flay and Michael Symon for a live culinary demonstration.
"Every year we evolve the Savor Borgata series of events," said Becky Shultz, Vice President of Food & Beverage for Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. "And this year, we're thrilled to have acclaimed chef Michael Symon join our lineup of renowned talent to provide a fun event where food and drinks are the main attraction."
For the second year, Borgata will present a program of unique events throughout the weekend that celebrate the individual talent of each participating chef. On Friday, November 8th, Savor Borgata Weekend will kick-off with "A Taste of 5 Culinary Masters" a 4-course dinner and cocktail party as Iron Chefs Bobby Flay and Michael Symon collaborate with chefs Stephen Kalt, Michael Schulson, and Thaddeus DuBois. Located at 28 West, guests will enjoy a course by each chef, sure to excite even the most experienced palette.
On Saturday afternoon, Food Network fans will learn some of Bobby Flay's most celebrated recipes during a live culinary demonstration at Borgata's Music Box theatre. Immediately following, celebrity chef Michael Symon will sign copies of his new cookbook, "5 In 5: Fresh Ingredients + 5 Minutes = 120 Fantastic Dinners," inside 28 West.
Also on Saturday, Borgata will present a "Lunch & Learn" at Wolfgang Puck American Grill hosted by Executive Chef Aram Mardigian. Guests will enjoy a 3-course lunch paired with wine, while learning how to create several of Puck's classic dishes. Down the hall, former White House Executive Pastry Chef, Thaddeus DuBois – who currently oversees pastry production for both AAA Four-Diamond Borgata and Water Club hotels – will celebrate his sweet tooth at "Confectioner's Delight: The Art of Marzipan," a lesson on how to sculpt delectable fruits and flowers. On the same day, Fornelletto's Chef/Partner, Stephen Kalt, will host "Holy Ravioli," sharing his expertise on the quintessential Italian dish, and Izakaya's Chef/Partner, Michael Schulson, will host "Sushi & Sake with Schulson," demonstrating just how easy and fun sushi-making can be.
Borgata will also present tasting events for guests to pick their poison amidst bourbon, tequila, beer, and wine seminars across property on Saturday. Bourbon connoisseurs can begin their afternoon at Long Bar for "Wild Turkey Bourbon & BBQ," while tequila enthusiasts celebrate with Casamigos Tequila at Gypsy Bar for "Tequila n' Tacos," and beer buffs enjoy a tasting of Chicago's Goose Island Brewery at 28 West for "Bites are Better with Beer." Last, but not least, wine lovers are invited to take a journey at Borgata's signature hotel, The Water Club, for "Eyes Wine Shut with Master Sommelier Robert Bigelow" and "Wine Seminar with Francis Ford Coppola Winery."
Guests can continue to savor the weekend on Sunday at Atlantic City's Top Restaurant*, Old Homestead Steak House. Hosted by restaurateurs Greg and Marc Sherry, Executive Chef Romeo DiBona will prepare a "Sunday Brunch" of his award-winning cuisine. Later that day, Culinary Lifestyle Consultant for The Water Club hotel, Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian, will cap-off the weekend with "Absolut-ly Fabulous" in The Sunroom lounge, where an intimate group of foodies and fans-alike will enjoy a four-course tasting of Zakarian's small bites, paired with Absolut cocktails.
