Borders® Offers Military Personnel 10% off Purchases In-Store This Weekend

ANN ARBOR, Mich., May 28 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its ongoing commitment to communities nationwide, Borders® is giving members of the military and their dependents 10% off the list price of nearly everything in-store starting today, May 28 through Monday, May 31.  To receive the discount, a valid military ID must be presented at the time of purchase.

Borders has a longstanding history of recognizing those who play integral roles within our communities.  Educators, military and those who serve others are supported throughout the year through special in-store Benefit Days and promotions.  Borders also works with local communities nationwide through its relationship with Gifts In Kind International, a leading charitable organization in the product giving field. Borders and Gifts In Kind work together to donate non-returnable, unsold items from stores to local charities that are part of Gifts In Kind's national network.

In addition to receiving the 10% discount this weekend, customers who are members of the Borders Rewards® loyalty program can earn "Borders Bucks" on all qualifying purchases all the time. It's free and easy to join the Rewards program. Customers can pick up a Rewards card at any store and enroll in the program at the point of purchase by simply providing the cashier with a valid e-mail address. More than 38 million people have signed up for the program since it launched.

The discount can be used in all of the more than 700 Borders, Waldenbooks, Borders Express and Borders Airport stores nationwide.
