Boost Academy Named "COOL Company" by San Diego Venture Group
Math Tutoring Platform Honored as One of San Diego's Most Promising Up-and-Coming Companies
SAN DIEGO, July 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Every year, San Diego Venture Group honors a small group of start-ups by designating them "COOL Companies" and giving them the exciting opportunity to present their products, services and ideas to venture capitalists. With over 160 applicants this year, Boost Academy is proud to be among the elite group of 31 COOL Companies for 2015.
As in years past, the 2015 COOL Companies will be featured at the Annual Venture Summit on September 24 and 25, 2015, at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. The event draws an attendance of over 700, including approximately 100 venture capitalists. For the first time this year, the COOL Companies' CEOs will also meet alone with 35 venture capitalists from Silicon Valley and Los Angeles on July 21.
"We'd like to thank San Diego Venture Group for supporting Boost Academy and seeing the need that exists for this service," said Boost Academy President & CEO, Craig K. Collins. "Math mastery is more essential for today's students than ever before; however, the tutoring market is fragmented and difficult to navigate. Boost Academy's platform provides an elegant, streamlined solution for math tutoring without the inconveniences that come with finding, hiring, scheduling and meeting with an in-person tutor."
Mike Krenn, President of SDVG, states, "Congratulations to Boost Academy. Our main criterion is that COOL Companies possess the potential to be game-changing in their markets, as well as be well-positioned for venture capital, and Boost Academy meets those benchmarks. I am looking forward to seeing Boost Academy's continued growth and success."
