Bookstock’s Back! Metro Detroit’s Biggest & Best Used Book and Media Sale Supports the Need to Read

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich., March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Get ready to read, because Bookstock is back! Metro Detroit's largest used book and media sale, where all proceeds benefit literacy and education projects in metropolitan Detroit, will be held Sunday, April 18 through Sunday, April 25 at Livonia's Laurel Park Place. The Detroit News Columnist Neal Rubin and Detroit Free Press Columnist Rochelle Riley are Honorary Co-Chairs of Bookstock.
A true book lover's paradise, Bookstock has tens of thousands of donated used books, DVDs, CDs, books on tape, magazines and records for sale at bargain basement prices. Savvy shoppers and collectors can get first crack at the Bookstock Pre-Sale on Sunday, April 18 from 8:45 -1:45 a.m. There is a $10 admission charge for the Bookstock Pre-Sale only. The sale will continue through Sunday April 25, running Sundays, noon - 6 p.m. and Monday - Saturday 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Books will be sold for half-price on Sunday, April 25, the last day of the sale.
This year, Bookstock will host Celebrity Author Evenings, which will include the premiere of an exhibit by renowned photographer Linda Solomon, "Show Us Your Favorite Book in Photographs," that features snapshots by area students that reflect what their favorite book means to them. Bookstock has generated close to $450,000 for literacy and education programs throughout Oakland County and Detroit over the past seven years. More than 600 volunteers work together throughout the year to organize and staff the weeklong Bookstock sale.
