Bone Biologics Corp appoints Deina Walsh CFO
EDISON, N.J., Nov. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Deina Walsh has been appointed Chief Financial Officer for Bone Biologics, Corp., ("Bone Biologics" or "The Company") a company developing a proprietary protein for use in bone regenerative medicine using the patented recombinant human protein known as UCB-1 (or Nell-1) for use with patients undergoing spinal fusion.
"We have been working closely with Ms. Walsh to complete our current round of funding and are pleased that she has accepted the position of CFO. She brings extensive experience in accounting, finance and corporate strategy to Bone Biologics," noted William Jay Treat, Ph.D., President and Chief Technology Officer of the company.
Ms. Walsh is the owner and founder of DHW, CPA, PLLC a firm specializing in audits of publicly held entities, Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance, internal audit and internal control systems, and audits of privately held entities. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She was previously a partner at EFP Rotenberg, LLP.
Nell-1, a bone growth factor has been developed by Bone Biologics, Inc. in partnership with University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) as a more specific alternative to other bone growth factors used in health care today. In large animal studies, Nell-1 exhibited none of the side effects currently associated with other bone growth factors including ectopic bone growth, extraneous bone growth or cyst formation. The next phase will be completing the development and testing work needed to seek regulatory approval for the initial pilot study in human clinical trials.
