Entergy Corporation Analyst Notes
On May 16, 2014, Entergy Corporation (Entergy) announced that on June 16, 2014, the Redemption Date, the Company will redeem all $150 million principal amount of its outstanding First Mortgage Bonds of 7.875% Series due June 1, 2039, at the redemption price of 100% of the principal amount, plus accumulated interest but excluding the Redemption Date. According to the Company, on the Redemption Date, the Redemption Price, with the accumulated interest to but excluding the Redemption Date, the bonds shall stop bearing interest. Additionally, payment of the Redemption Price and accumulated interest will be made on or after the Redemption Date upon presentation and submission of the bonds to The Bank of New York Mellon, Bondmaster Ops - Syracuse - Vault, 111 Sanders Creek Parkway, East Syracuse, New York 13057. FirstEnergy Corp. Analyst Notes
On May 16, 2014, Ohio Edison, a utility company of FirstEnergy Corp. (FirstEnergy), announced its continuous tree trimming work in communities across its 36-county service area in Ohio. According to the Company, as part of its approximately $18.6 million vegetation management spend for 2014, Ohio Edison tree contractors have trimmed over 1,500 circuit miles of electric lines, along with an additional 3,400 miles projected to be completed by the end of 2014. The tree trimming program, as reported by Ohio Edison, is to help enhance service reliability by maintaining proper clearances around electrical equipment and help protect from tree-related outages. Dominion Resources, Inc. Analyst Notes
On May 15, 2014, Dominion Resources, Inc. (Dominion) introduced a new mobile charging station to Dominion Riverrock. According to the Company, this 12-foot-long station is outfitted with two integrated 65-inch monitors and a 500-watt audio system, and is built to charge up to 100 devices at a time through its military-grade 240-watt solar panels. Event participants can simply plug in for free at any time during the festival. The Company added that charging cords for different devices and smart phones are included. Robert M. Blue, President, Dominion Virginia Power said, "We wanted to make it more convenient for participants to stay connected at Dominion Riverrock. The solution was a mobile charging station, powered, in part, by clean solar energy. Festival-goers will be able to keep in touch with friends and family throughout the event without their phone or tablet batteries running out." DTE Energy Co. Analyst Notes
On May 15, 2014, DTE Energy Co.'s (DTE Energy) Gas Storage and Pipeline segment has secured commitments for 10-15 years with Southwestern Energy Co. and Cabot Oil & Gas Corp., which will notably expand the Bluestone Pipeline - a 44.5 mile pipeline and gathering system that currently have the capacity to transport up to 600,000 Dth/day combined to the Millennium Pipeline in Broome County in N.Y. and the Tennessee Gas Pipeline in Susquehanna County in Pennsylvania. With the agreement, the Company reported that the expansion will increase the capacity of the Bluestone Pipeline to 975,000 Dth/day, more than 60% increase in capacity since the gathering system first came online in late 2012. "The stronger than expected performance of Marcellus reserves in Susquehanna County continues to drive the need for additional infrastructure," said Richard Redmond, Executive Vice President, DTE Gathering and Processing.
