Boldon James Enhances Relationship with Intel Security with McAfee Data Exchange Layer (DXL) Integration
Classifier, the leading data classification solution, now integrated with the latest McAfee® Data Exchange Layer architecture to deliver adaptive security
FARNBOROUGH, England, October 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
QinetiQ's Data security company Boldon James, a leading provider of data classification and Secure Messaging solutions, announces today the next step in the development of their technical integration with Intel Security products; the integration of their Classifier data classification solution into the McAfee Data Exchange Layer (DXL) will be demonstrated at FOCUS 15 in Las Vegas.
The McAfee Data Exchange Layer (DXL) open platform was introduced by Intel Security in October 2014, the aim was to build deeper integration among security products. DXL is the standard protocol for sharing information between the security products of Intel Security and its technology partners.
The FOCUS conference brings together security specialists and Intel Security customers to help organizations manage their network security strategies and deployment. Boldon James, a member of the Intel® Security Innovation Alliance, will be participating in the live DXL demonstration at FOCUS 15. Boldon James will also be demonstrating how Boldon James Classifier integrates with McAfee Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and McAfee ePolicy® Orchestrator (ePO®). The latest integration developments add value to McAfee DLP users by enhancing DLP decision making whilst providing insight on classification activity through McAfee ePO dashboard reporting.
Data classification technology, which empowers user communities who create and handle data to assign value to it, is becoming a vital foundational security layer in many organizations' data security strategies.
Sharing knowledge of data classification activity via the McAfee Data Exchange Layer can enable a more adaptive security ecosystem, allowing connected security components to share data usage events with other security systems. It allows for automated reaction, which can greatly reduce response time, and improve threat containment.
Using DXL, Classifier can share activity events in real time with McAfee Enterprise Security Manager (ESM), which can then monitor, correlate and analyse the classification and data handling actions of end users. By analysing this user activity, McAfee ESM can detect suspicious behaviour and automatically launch remedial actions, and tackle insider threats arising from negligent or deliberate actions.
"We are excited to be supporting Intel Security at FOCUS 15 - it is a unique opportunity to demonstrate how our partnership with Intel Security, and how our integration with their latest data protection and exchange architecture can speed up deployment of Classification and DLP, resulting in happier customers and improved ROI," said Martin Sugden, Managing Director of Boldon James. "By leveraging the insight of those creating and handling information, the users become active contributors to a data loss prevention solution. Knowledge of data classification activity can now be easily shared via DXL enabling user behaviour to be verified and insider threats to be quickly identified."
"A key goal behind the Intel Security Innovation Alliance program is to accelerate the development of interoperable security products and simplify the integration of those products with complex customer environments," said D.J. Long, Sr. Director, Head of the Security Innovation Alliance at Intel Security. "Boldon James' investment in DXL extends its security risk management platform by sharing data classification activity with other security systems, providing real-time insight and decision making value to Boldon James' customers."
