Boies, Schiller & Flexner Named Washington Litigation Department of the Year Finalist
WASHINGTON, June 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Boies, Schiller & Flexner is proud to announce it was named one of two finalists in the National Law Journal's Washington Litigation Department of the Year competition for 2015.
"Boies, Schiller & Flexner's ambitions to be one of Washington's power players paid off big in 2014 with high-profile hires and significant wins for the firm's litigation department," the publication wrote in a profile of the Firm's Washington office.
The profile highlighted an antitrust trial last year in which Bill Isaacson, a partner in Washington since the firm started in 1997, and Karen Dunn, who joined last year after a career in government, won a defense verdict for a major company in the digital music industry.
Mr. Isaacson and Ms. Dunn "represent Boies Schiller's litigation pedigree and its infusion over the past year with former government lawyers who cut their teeth in the corridors of the nation's capital," it said, naming Federal Trade Commission alumni Rich Feinstein, Chris Renner, and Nick Widnell, and former Food and Drug Administration and Justice Department alumnae Lisa Barclay and Stacey Grigsby as having recently joined the firm's Washington office.
The National Law Journal also highlighted Mr. Isaacson's work, with associate Martha Goodman, as co-lead trial counsel for college athletes in a historic class action trial last year against the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
"Companies turn to Boies Schiller when their cases hit crunch time," the National Law Journal wrote, noting partner Hamish Hume's settlement for Space Exploration Technologies Corp. in a case against the U.S. Air Force and partner Michael Gottlieb's work for the Kurdistan Regional Government against the Iraqi Ministry of Oil.
