Boies, Schiller & Flexner Congratulates Lee Wolosky On His Appointment As Special Envoy For Guantanamo Closure

NEW YORK, June 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Boies, Schiller & Flexner congratulates Lee Wolosky on his appointment as Special Envoy for Guantanamo Closure at the United States Department of State. Mr. Wolosky serves as a litigation partner in the Firm's New York office. The administration of President Barack Obama announced the appointment today.

Mr. Wolosky's recent matters have included serving as lead counsel in the Firm's terrorist-financing litigation against Bank of China Limited; lead counsel in a precedent-setting civil matter that was dismissed following the assertion of the state secrets privilege by the U.S. Government; co-lead counsel to certain of the 9/11 families in connection with a multi-billion dollar federal court judgment entered against Iran; and lead counsel to a major international corporation in matters arising out of an alleged assault by former IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn.

Mr. Wolosky joined Boies, Schiller & Flexner in 2001 from the White House, where he served as Director for Transnational Threats on the National Security Council under Presidents Clinton and George W. Bush. He graduated from Harvard Law School cum laude in 1995 and from Harvard College magna cum laude in 1990. While in law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Sonia Sotomayor, who was then a U.S. district judge. Mr. Wolosky is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a founder and member of the board of directors of the National Security Network.
