BodyMedia FIT Body Monitors Rev Up Calorie Burn with New 'FIT coach'
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- ShowStoppers @ CES 2012 – The BodyMedia FIT™ body monitoring platform designed to energize weight loss efforts is introducing a new way to light your calorie-burning fire: the first personalized feedback system that recommends activity and dietary adjustments based on each user's actual calorie expenditure and food intake for the day. The new BodyMedia FIT coach feature works in conjunction with BodyMedia FIT Armbands and is part of the FIT platform's Activity Manager online software.
The Activity Manager stores and analyzes Armband data on calories burned, steps taken, level of physical activity and sleep patterns; allows users to set goals and document daily food intake; and now with FIT coach compares daily calorie input and output to weight loss goals. The system then tells you:
- Whether you are missing, meeting or beating your target for daily calorie burn
- Multiple activity options for making up shortfalls (e.g. "Hop on the treadmill and walk for about 1 hour at a speed of 4 mph and you can hit your calorie burn goal today"), based on your actual burn rates
- Nutritional analysis of each day's eating patterns, along with recommendations for correcting problems such as excess fat intake
- Your overall progress toward your weight loss goal and advice for staying on course
The Activity Manager subscription and new FIT coach feature are included free for three months with the new BodyMedia FIT CORE Armband ($179 MSRP) as well as the FIT LINK Armband ($199 MSRP), which uses Bluetooth® wireless technology to send data to a smartphone. After the trial period, the software costs $6.95/month. More information is at http://www.bodymedia.com/Support-Help/Get-Started.
