Body & Mind Medical Weight Loss Center Now Open and Accepting Patients - Holistic Programs Encourage Participants to "Think, Eat, and Exercise Your Way to Health"
ONTARIO, Calif., Nov. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Incorporated in late 2015, Body & Mind Medical Weight Loss Center (http://www.bodyandmindontario.com/) is looking to disrupt the $60 billion diet and weight loss industry by introducing a personalized, comprehensive and holistic approach to health. The center recently opened its flagship location in Ontario, California. Rather than offering "miracle" remedies, Body & Mind Medical Weight Loss Center intends to teach habits and mindsets that can make it easier to maintain a healthy weight and, just as importantly, support overall good health.
The unfortunate reality is that 95 percent of conventional diets fail – and that's likely by design.
The weight loss industry would be unsustainable if people were given the tools and know-how to sustain their weight loss.
"If you want to lose weight and keep if off for the rest of your life," says Dr. Tanya Scurry, founder and medical director of Body & Mind Medical Weight Loss Center, "then this is the program for you. But, if you're still eager to discover the mythical quick and easy solution to weight loss, we may not be the right choice for you."
"There's a big difference between weight loss and fat loss; our program takes the guesswork out of weight management by determining what each individual needs to reach an optimal weight and stay healthy. In truth, it's less about numbers and more about feeling healthy and fulfilled."
Dr. Scurry has personal experience with the challenges of becoming healthy. During her medical training, she reached a weight of 500 pounds and could feel her body giving up on her. A friend's intervention helped Dr. Scurry start reversing the damage. She had bariatric surgery in 2012, and a year later hired a personal trainer – which she had resisted – to push past a plateau. Today, Dr. Scurry's mission is to inspire others to live healthier, and provide the tools and knowledge to overcome any obstacles.
Body & Mind Medical Weight Loss Center's approach includes nutritional coaching, physical activity and behavioral health interventions. Other programs might focus on one or two aspects of human health, which is unlikely to facilitate long-term success. To that end, the center also helps clients improve their sleep hygiene, decrease stress and find more joy in life. These elements are important pieces in the wellness puzzle.
Body & Mind Medical Weight Loss Center offers the following treatment programs: Weight No More®, Enliven Your Spirit®, KE Diet Only® and Jump Start to Health®.
"There's no one solution to weight loss, and every person's optimal weight will be different," concludes Dr. Scurry. "That's why we develop custom plans for each client based on a thorough assessment of where they are today, and where they want to be in the future. Our goal is to be a shoulder to lean on, to encourage and support you, and to provide medically supervised, evidence-based obesity treatment to adults and children/adolescents. Fighting obesity is a battle, but it's not a battle anyone has to fight alone."
Body & Mind Medical Weight Loss Center will be having a grand opening celebration on November 14 from 2 p.m.-7 p.m.
