Boca Grove's Tennis Director, Richard Centerbar, Named 2013 USPTA Florida Pro of the Year

BOCA RATON, Fla., April 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Boca Grove Golf and Tennis Club's Tennis Director, Richard Centerbar, has been named the 2013 USPTA Florida Pro of the Year. This honor is awarded annually to only one of approximately 1,600 USPTA Professionals throughout the state of Florida.

"I'm honored to be named USPTA Florida Pro of the Year. I feel lucky that my profession just so happens to be my passion. I've always strived to do my best in everything I do. It's so nice to be recognized for my hard work, but I honestly could not have achieved this without the people around me – past, present and future," said Centerbar of his success.

Centerbar has served as Boca Grove's Tennis Director for the past 28 years. He is a USPTA Professional Level 1, and has served as USPTA Florida President and the Florida USPTA District President. He currently serves as a member of both the USPTA National Executive and National Nominating committees. He achieved a No. 3 ranking in the national USPTA Men's 45 and Over Division; in that same year, he won the USPTA Grand Prix Masters Singles title. He has extensive experience running several USTA Florida tournaments and has been the director of prize money events, including one at $100,000.
