BOCA RATON, Fla., June 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Boca Grove Golf and Tennis Club in Boca Raton, FL is proud to have the practice facilities and challenging 18-hole Jim Fazio designed Championship golf course to help hone the game of golfers young and old. We are especially proud to be called the home course to two young golfers who are making great strides in the Junior Golf world.
Alec and Elle Nachmann, Boca Grove Non-Resident Members along with their parents Marc and Luanne, are practicing hard and taking home trophies. Between Alec, 14, and Elle, 13, they have over a 100 tournament wins combined. This past March, Alec and Elle took home their latest titles as the respective Boy and Girl Overall Champion for the South Florida PGA Junior Challenge Tour Event #2 in Vero Beach. This summer Alec and Elle are hitting the road and taking national level tournaments.
Alec and Elle started playing golf when they were 3 and 2, respectively, at a driving range in Chelsea Pier, NY. With no formal golf instruction, the two practice with their mother Luanne Spadea-Nachmann daily. Their practice consists of hitting a line of balls (between 8 to 10 balls in a row) with each club, and depending on the club anything from a full-swing to a three-quarter to a half swing and at a target with a little friendly sibling competition for good measure. The first to 10 "perfect" shots to the target wins. Short game, putting and course practice are no different. Competition is the name of the game, whether it is rooting on the other or winner takes all. Alec loves to practice his short game, "Because he is good at it." Elle loves target practice. She loves to aim for a target and hit it, whether it be moving or standing still.
Elle's favorite hole at Boca Grove is hole 10 because she eagled it; Alec's is hole 12 because he always beats Elle on that hole. Alec's favorite course so far is Pinehurst #9 and Elle's is Pinehurst #2 where she shot a 69 and helped the girl's USA team win a gold medal.
When not working hard on their golf game or school work, these two are giving back for a good cause. Alec and Elle have started the "Kids Helping Kids Fight Cancer One Stroke at a Time" golf tournament to help raise money for breast cancer, a cause near and dear to them since their mom is a breast cancer survivor.
The future is bright for Alec and Elle, and Boca Grove is excited to be a part of their journey.
