Bobby Genovese Chairs SickKids Foundation Celebrity Boat Rally

TORONTO, April 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Bobby Genovese, Chairman of the Board, BG Capital Group, has been named chairman of the Boat Rally for Kids with Cancer Scavenger Cup, which will take to the waters of Lake Joseph and Lake Rosseau in the Muskokas on July 20, 2013.

Genovese is being honored with an official cocktail reception from 6:00pm to 8:00pm this evening at Toronto's Soho House where supporters can also register a fundraising team or become a sponsor in this exciting celebrity-driven, luxury boat scavenger hunt.

The Boat Rally is a continuation of the extremely successful Car Rally for Kids with Cancer Scavenger Cup, which began in 2008, raising more than $11 million over the past five years for pediatric cancer research, treatment and care for The Hospital for Sick Children — Canada's leading center dedicated to advancing children's health. The Boat Rally's organizers were recently recognized and applauded by the Prime Minister of Canada, Stephen Joseph Harper, PC, MP, for their extraordinary effectiveness and creative approach in helping such a worthy cause.

Genovese founded his first company at age 25 in his native Ontario after which he built the Investor Relations Group (IRG) in Vancouver where he successfully positioned privately-held and undervalued companies to compete in the public arena.
