Bob Skelley Appointed Leader of Managed Marketing Services Business
WESTBOROUGH, Mass., June 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Channel Company announced today that it has brought onboard Bob Skelley, a former channel chief of several high-profile companies with more than 20 years' experience, as Vice President and Managing Director, Services and Product Development. As leader of the company's Managed Marketing Services (MMS) group, Skelley will oversee demand generation and marketing services that drive revenue for both IT solution providers and vendors.
"Bob has built and managed worldwide channel organizations at some of the top companies in high-tech, and we could not be more pleased that he is bringing his extensive knowledge and expertise to our growing MMS business," said Robert Faletra, CEO, The Channel Company. "The Channel Company has spent the past two years building a world class MMS organization capable of securing new customers and building demand for solution providers. Bob's in-depth knowledge of the needs of both the partner and vendor communities will help us scale this business to meet the growing requirements of solution providers and vendors alike, who are turning to us to find net new revenue."
Skelley previously served as Global Vice President, Channel Strategy and Operations for EqualLogic until it was acquired by Dell Computer in 2008, then stayed on after the acquisition as Dell's Executive Director of North American Channel Sales. Prior to his positions at Dell and EqualLogic, he worked for Microsoft as Director of U.S. Distribution and VAR Channel. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Global Channels and Alliances at storage startup Infinio.
The MMS business that Skelley will be overseeing was launched by The Channel Company in 2014 with the goal of helping solution providers maximize the effectiveness of their channel marketing efforts and helping vendors get the most out of their partner marketing investments. The group collaborates directly with solution providers on behalf of vendors to develop and execute strategic, integrated marketing programs that produce sales-ready leads.
In his new role, Skelley will focus on strengthening The Channel Company's relationships with both the solution provider and vendor communities, while increasing the measurable ROI that both sides generate from the MMS group's marketing services.
"I've used many of the services provided by The Channel Company in the past to help manage and grow channel organizations in the vendor community," said Skelley. "I'm excited to join the team and lead its effort to help channel partners execute the most effective and rewarding marketing programs possible, while helping vendors optimize the market development funds they spend with solution providers."
