Boardroom Events Celebrates Vendor-Midmarket IT Collaboration with CIO Award of Excellence
Panel of peers selects John Valker for exceptional project results
TUCSON, Ariz., Oct. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Boardroom Events has named John Valker, CIO of Daybreak Venture, as the winner of the Award of Excellence in the Office of the Midmarket CIO. Presented at the annual Midmarket CIO Forum, the award recognizes powerful partnerships between technology vendors and enterprise IT teams that deliver measurable value to the IT organizations.
An invitation-only gathering of midmarket IT executives and technology solution providers, the Midmarket CIO Forum creates relevant, productive connections between technology decision-makers on both sides of the table. Launched in 2009, the Award of Excellence for midmarket CIOs showcases exceptional technology implementations and the financial benefits they deliver to midsize organizations.
The judging panel of CIOs chose Valker from a competitive field of finalists because of his organization's successful partnership with Aerohive.
The challenge that Daybreak Venture solved by partnering with Aerohive was a need to upgrade to a controller-less solution at their 75 facilities. The company also needed a networking solution with centralized management and a secure wireless solution to meet HIPAA privacy concerns and regulations.
Daybreak Venture evaluated several providers before choosing Aerohive's controller-less solution. The provider's strong feature set, management tools, and security features distinguished their product from its competitors.
"As the leader of a team that strives to always derive business value from IT decisions, I am honored to be recognized for an implementation that has resulted in significant value for my organization," noted Valker. "I share this award with a whole team of talented and dedicated individuals whose technical skills and commercial acumen have resulted in this great example of vendor-enterprise collaboration."
The Midmarket CIO Awards are judged according to the following criteria:
- The nature, breadth, and complexity of the project
- Results measured in terms of performance improvement and financial benefits
- The ability to characterize the project and effectively communicate its significance
"Celebrating the exceptional results that come from true partnerships between technology solution providers and midmarket IT teams is at the heart of everything we do," said Boardroom Events Executive Vice President Hilary Badoian. "The Award of Excellence is just one of the ways in which we shine a spotlight on IT innovation and business leadership in the midmarket, and we're very pleased to recognize John for his excellent work."
The Midmarket CIO Forum takes place twice a year, with the next events scheduled for April 19-21, 2015, at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, Orlando, FL; and October 18-20, 2015, at the Hyatt Lost Pines, Austin TX. For more information, click here or call 786-361-0454.
