LOUISVILLE, Ky., Nov. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Kentucky Health Cooperative Inc., Kentucky's only nonprofit health insurer serving all 120 Kentucky counties, is accepting applications from members to serve on the organization's Board of Directors. Two additional Board of Director positions will be added in January 2015 and will be filled in mid-December through an election process.
"Kentucky Health Cooperative is a different kind of health insurer. It is a Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan (CO-OP), which means members will have a voice in how the health plan is run," said Joseph E. Smith, M.D., chairman of the Board of Directors.
The organization, which greeted members for the first time on January 1 of this year, is on the lookout for candidate-members to serve in a volunteer capacity. Members may self-nominate, and more information is posted to the organization's website at www.mykyhc.org.
Applications will be accepted through Friday, November 7.
