ARLINGTON, Va., July 18, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Legal and business publisher BNA and the American Bar Association Section of Intellectual Property Law announce the winner of the annual writing contest for young lawyers practicing intellectual property law.

The winner is Kritika Bharadwaj, for an article entitled, "Internet Surveys in Trademark Litigation? Option A – Yes, Option B – No."
Ms. Bharadwaj's article was chosen as the winner by the three judges: former Registrar of Copyrights, Marybeth Peters; Akron University law professor Jeffrey M. Samuels; and former Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, Paul R. Michel.
Ms. Bharadwaj graduated in May with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the George Washington University Law School, Intellectual Property Law Program. She has a Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) degree from Bangalore University in India. She also has a specialized diploma in Intellectual Property Law from National Law School of India University of India. She is enrolled as an Advocate in the State Bar Council in India.
The contest is jointly sponsored by BNA, a leading publisher in the IP area, and the ABA Section of Intellectual Property Law (ABA-IPL) with its ABA-IPL Young Lawyers Action Group.
The next deadline for entries is June 1, 2012.
The BNA/ABA Young IP Lawyer Writing Award recognizes superior writing concerning a current topic, trend, issue, or legal development in U.S. or foreign intellectual property law.
The winning article will be published by BNA. Also, the author will receive a certificate and his or her choice of a BNA treatise. The award will be given at the ABA Annual Meeting in Toronto this August.
