BMO Harris Bank Recognized by Financial Services Roundtable for Leadership in Community Service
Former Harris and M&I businesses awarded for exceptional volunteerism efforts and community involvement
CHICAGO, Aug. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- BMO Harris Bank announced today that it has received two 2010 Community Service Leadership Awards from The Financial Services Roundtable based on the community efforts of former Harris Bank and Marshall & Ilsley Corporation.
The "Leadership in Community Service" award recognizes a Roundtable member company's community service efforts. The award acknowledges a company's leadership within the community and the volunteer efforts of the company's associates.
"These awards further demonstrate the commitment, values and culture we previously shared as two separate companies," said Judy Rice, SVP Community Affairs & Economic Development, BMO Harris Bank, N.A. "Now, as BMO Harris Bank, our volunteer efforts are doubled and our commitment to give back to the communities in which we serve is stronger than ever, helping us continue to be the bank that defines great customer service."
Harris and M&I were two out of fifteen financial institutions to receive the honor. Both banks were selected based on their outstanding breadth of community involvement, inclusion of financial education components within community efforts, widespread employee involvement, and exceptional service provided to people in need.
"In 2010, these two companies had 10,205 volunteers participate in community service events ranging from food drives to financial education seminars," said Steve Bartlett, President and CEO for The Financial Services Roundtable. "At BMO Harris Bank, leadership in the community truly starts at the top. We're thrilled to honor the work of two phenomenal companies, Harris and M&I."
The Financial Services Roundtable represents 100 of the largest integrated financial services companies providing banking, insurance, and investment products and services to the American consumer. Member companies participate through the Chief Executive Officer and other senior executives nominated by the CEO.
