Blueair Honored With 2015 Good Design Award For Contemporary Blue Air Purifier Designed For Younger, Health-minded Consumers
STOCKHOLM, Jan. 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- A stunning new air purifier called 'Blue' designed for younger consumers who embrace healthier living options has won a GOOD DESIGN Award for Blueair, a world leader in mobile indoor air cleaning solutions.
The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies has honored Blueair with its prestigious Good Design award in recognition of the cool, contemporary Swedish-engineered design and style of its new Blue air purifier.
The award citation said Blue breaks new ground across the range of engineering qualities, use of materials, aesthetics, user value and efficiency in cleaning indoor air of health-threatening contaminants in just 12 minutes.
"Having our new Blue air purifier recognized by the GOOD DESIGN Awards underlines Blueair's position as a design leader in providing a new generation of active, health and sports focused consumers, powerful indoor air cleaning," said Ms. Elin Ward, a thirty-one-year-old engineer who has driven the Blue project since its inception two years ago.
The GOOD DESIGN honors are the oldest and the world's most prestigious architecture and design awards program.
Ms. Ward said Blueair's ambition from the start with Blue has been to create the best indoor air purifier in the world at the best possible price without compromising the easy to use design. Achieving that goal has embraced merging Sweden's acclaimed design with radical technological approaches that will enhance health and wellbeing.
"The result is a deceptively simple, disruptive appliance that breaks conventional air purifier thinking by siting a replaceable filter at the bottom of the unit and the fan at the top under a geometrically perforated grill that ensures maximum air flow performance with minimal noise," said Ms. Ward.
