LONDON and AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Blue Prism (AIM: PRSM), today announced a new release of its Digital Workforce platform that includes features delivering secure Multi-Team Environments (MTE), native support for Google Chrome™ and a new Microsoft Outlook E-mail Visual Business Object (VBO). Innovations in Blue Prism v6.3 deliver a level of unprecedented granular control and auditability that no other Robotic Process Automation (RPA) offering on the market can provide. Delivering peace of mind to automation teams by reducing duplication of work and IT support, maximizing operational efficiency and significantly improving compliance are some of the benefits that this version brings to the RPA market.
This new version takes the unique "Blue Prism Scales" commitment to new heights. Prior to MTE, customers would have to support separation of duties across departments with duplicate objects in multiple environments, as is the case with most RPA solutions today. The new version eliminates having to move objects to multiple locations, and by enabling objects to be shared or secured within or across teams, v6.3 significantly improves manageability and lowers the total cost of ownership for customers.
"As more mainstream enterprises adopt and expand on their RPA initiatives they seek technology that can provide varying degrees of access and permissions, natively protects against growing security and compliance mandates and advances their digital transformation efforts with innovations in intelligent automation," said Dave Moss, Blue Prism co-founder and Chief Technology Officer. "The ability to deliver an intelligent, connected and easy to control digital workforce is a true game changer. With this latest release we've added greater control, flexibility, scalability and security to our platform that makes the process of sharing resources across multiple business units easier and more secure."
Greater Scalability, Flexibility and Control
With the availability of v6.3 Blue Prism is adding the following capabilities:
- Multi-Team Environments (MTE) delivers new level of security and scalability. Enterprise users can segregate duties for greater control of Blue Prism's digital workers and processes across multiple business units within a single environment. This new feature also allows customers to create multiple teams with varying levels of permission and access to processes, objects and resources, core elements of the Blue Prism platform that make automation safer and scalable across the enterprise. It delivers granular control so only certain specified users can build and access processes based on permissions, ensuring compliance.
- Native Google Chrome support expands opportunities for automation. Enterprise users can now directly automate the Chrome browser in a purpose-built solution. This allows RPA to be used to automate web pages and applications that are best displayed/designed to work in Chrome, including internal web-based apps that are hosted in the browser. The Blue Prism Application Modeller wizard has also been updated with a new additional Browser-based Application (Chrome) application mode that enables Chrome elements to be spied and used within Business Objects.
- New Microsoft Outlook Email VBO democratizes AI across the enterprise. Users can easily automate any email process that used Outlook as its foundation. It provides several actions for processing emails within Outlook such as sending, deleting, retrieving, and saving emails and attachments. This new VBO provides drag-and-drop simplicity to email automation within business processes.
Prior to general availability, all Blue Prism features are comprehensively tested by tenured customers through the company's Early Access Program.
"Blue Prism has introduced new capabilities fostering better utilization of RPA resources and greater visibility into and control over RPA platform operations and task/process automations, thereby driving greater scalability and agility of the digital workforce delivered as part of RPA engagements," said Saurabh Sharma, Principal Analyst at Ovum.
Blue Prism complements the workplace with an elastic, multi-faceted and multi-talented digital workforce, helping organizations automate and scale business processes via AI, machine learning, intelligent automation and sentiment analysis. This digital workforce, being utilized by more than 1,000 organizations worldwide, eliminates vendor lock-in by providing access to the best of breed AI technologies and Intelligent Automation skills through the company's Technology Alliance Program (TAP) that transforms how organizations can leverage technology to deliver true operational agility.
The new release also advances the company's vision of extending RPA capabilities through the use of six intelligent automation skills that augment human talent while helping organizations automate and quickly scale business processes. According to Blue Prism customers, these six intelligent automation skills are critical for comprehensive RPA deployment inside the enterprise and include knowledge and insight, planning and sequencing, visual perception, problem solving, collaboration and learning, which mark a clear line of delineation over desktop-based and other automation tools.
