Blue Cross Names Three New Executives
Scott Keefer named vice president of public policy and legislative affairs, Sig Muller is vice president of business development, and Adam Weliver appointed vice president of national accounts
EAGAN, Minn., Nov. 23, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota (Blue Cross) announces three new leaders at the organization. Scott Keefer is vice president of public policy and legislative affairs, Sigfrid (Sig) Muller is vice president of business development, and Adam Weliver is vice president of key accounts.
About Scott Keefer
As vice president of public policy and legislative affairs at Blue Cross, Keefer will lead legislative affairs and state and federal policy initiatives.
Keefer most recently served as vice president of policy and legislative affairs for AHIP—America's Health Insurance Plans, in the Washington, D.C. office. He has also worked as a congressional staffer for 10 years, including as the legislative director for U.S. Representative Harold Ford, Jr., and has served in several health related positions in both the private and public sectors.
Keefer is a graduate of Washington and Jefferson College, and received his law degree from Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh, Pa.
About Sig Muller
Muller serves as vice president of business development at Blue Cross. In this role, he is responsible for new business opportunities and leading new growth initiatives.
Muller was previously vice president of marketing for mPay Gateway, a web based, credit card payment system built exclusively for health care providers located in Minneapolis. He has also held leadership positions with Winthrop Resources, Resaleworld.com and General Mills.
Muller received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. and his master's degree from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H.
About Adam Weliver
As vice president of national accounts at Blue Cross, Weliver is responsible for ensuring Blue Cross' largest and most complex clients and prospects are served in the most comprehensive, effective and efficient manner possible. Prior to joining Blue Cross, Weliver was principal and U.S. sales lead at Mercer, a firm specializing in benefits and human resource consulting, outsourcing and investments that is headquartered in New York, N.Y. In addition to his national leadership responsibilities, Weliver managed the relationships of many Fortune 1000 companies headquartered in the Twin Cities. With more than 17 years of consulting experience, Weliver also held positions at The Segal Company and Watson Wyatt Worldwide.
Weliver is a graduate of Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Ind.
